Rear Push Rod Suspension
Front Pull Rod Suspension
Control arms were desgined using parametric modeling so that the mech design could dynamically change should the geometry change.
Actual Front Suspension Movement
The final assembly was modeled with realistic constraints to allow full articulation of the control arms, uprights, steering, and damping system. This enabled a clear visualization of suspension movement and ensured that no other systems interfered with its operation.
To design parts to be as lightweight as possible, finite element analysis (FEA) is used to find factor of safety of the part from the forces being acted on it. The part is then trimmed till a FOS of a minimum of 3 is found.
